DENTURES & DENTAL IMPLANTS IN DUNCAN

At Duncan Dental 1992 LTD, Robert has sought to provide patients throughout Duncan and the Cowichan Valley the latest dental technology in order to give you the best and brightest smile. Dental implants have a long demonstrated rate of clinical success. They come in a range of designs to accommodate all types of dental patients. Robert has heard remarks from our own patients on how similar the denture implant feels to their own natural teeth. Implant anchors are placed by a qualified implant dentist. Dentures are fit over the implants in order to increase stability, improve chewing and digestion as well as help to reduce tissue irritation and decrease bone loss.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF IMPLANTS?

Many people who use dentures develop habits to hold their dentures in place when eating, speaking and laughing. These habits may lead to other problems such as muscle strain, bruxism and mouth tissue sensitivity. Dental implants hold the denture in place in a way that allows for normal movement and allow the facial muscles to relax. As a result you are able to eat, laugh and speak with confidence. The size and shape of your denture can easily be altered when they are in place by dental implants.

In most cases the size of dentures can be reduced by 25-30%. Reshaping depends on a number of factors including oral cavity size and force when chewing. Dental implants are highly effective in restoring your natural smile and our office works with several area dentists who place dental implants. For a referral to a local specialist, give us a call.

HOW DO DENTAL IMPLANTS WORK?

You will need to schedule a visit with a dentist or surgeon for a consultation and exam to determine whether there is enough bone to place the implants. This assessment is usually determined through a CT scan. During the surgery, implants are placed in the jaw bone and allow for connectors called abutments to be attached. Your denture is fitted with special attachments to clip the implants into place. Robert is happy to refer you to an implant dentist.

HOW MUCH DO DENTAL IMPLANTS COST?

Implants have become more affordable over time. Our qualified denturist can help you understand the facts and related procedures involved in receiving implants. The cost of implants varies and is related to the amount of treatment required. An implant requires both a surgical and dental component. Robert can provide you with a quote for the denture component and provide you with a referral to a qualified implant dentist.
